Hello, I’m Lesley, a ghostwriter, copywriter, and published author.
For the past three decades I have been writing professionally in one way or another, penning press releases, editing newsletters, drafting features and speeches and corporate copy for a multitude of resources and a diverse assortment of clients. I also write and edit books.

I'm based on the east coast of Northern Ireland, but being a freelance writer means I'm pretty much a working martini - any time, any place, anywhere. (If you know, you know!)

What do I write?
Sometimes I write my own words. Sometimes I write words for others. And sometimes I write words as another person, in someone else’s voice, using someone else’s name. To date, I have fully ghostwritten several memoirs and non-fiction books. I have also worked as a developmental editor on a number of business publications and a bestselling sports memoir, editing the manuscripts, rewriting substantial sections, and helping to shape the structure and narrative arc of each book.

As a copywriter I have written content for magazines, websites, blog posts, brochures, and booklets. I have composed keynote speeches, and drafted scripts for corporate, training, and promotional videos. And I have edited and proofread a multitude of evaluation and marketing reports, proposals, submissions, and coffee table style business books.

My debut novel, The Lonely Life of Biddy Weir was originally published in 2016 by Bonnier, released on Audible in 2020, and re-issued by Dalzell Press in 2023. I am currently working on another book, the details of which are so secret I don’t even know them all myself! But it’s exciting.
What can I write for you?
If you have a story you're desperate to tell, but haven’t the foggiest notion how to go about it, or a book half written you just can’t seem to finish, or a completed manuscript that needs a bit of a makeover, I can help. I can ghostwrite your book from scratch, or mentor you through the process of writing it yourself. Or I can work with you on a comprehensive developmental edit. I can also provide a more straightforward editing service, fine-tune your structure and chapter plan, help with your submission pitch, or draft a back cover book blurb.

You may not want to write a book, of course. You could be looking for help with a smaller project, a video or event script perhaps, or a blog post, or a magazine article. The long and short of it is, whatever you need words for, I can write them. Of course ChatGPT can give you words too. But it can't give you soul with those words, or a smile, or, ironically, a chat.
